AES-Toolbox documentation
Getting started
AES-Toolbox
An AES Toolbox for computing Rijndael key schedule given a 128, 192, or 256-bit key.
Documentation: https://aestoolbox.readthedocs.io.
Features
AES Key Schedule
AES Encrypt/Decrypt (work in progress)
Installation
Stable release via pip
To install AES-Toolbox, run this command in your terminal:
$ pip install aestoolbox
If you don’t have pip installed, this Python installation guide can guide you through the process.
Get from source
The sources for AES-Toolbox can be downloaded from the Github repo. This is the preferred method to install AES-Toolbox, as it will always install the most recent stable release.
You can either clone the public repository:
$ git clone git://github.com/emdneto/aestoolbox
Or download the tarball:
$ curl -OJL https://github.com/emdneto/aestoolbox/tarball/master
Once you have a copy of the source, you can install it with:
$ python setup.py install
Using AES-Toolbox
Usage (via CLI)
$ aes-schedule [-h] [-v] [-i] key
$ aes-schedule 0x0101010102020202030303030404040 -i -v
The above command should output:

- class aestoolbox.core.aes_schedule.KeySchedule(key, dec=False)[source]
Bases:
object
- expand_key()[source]
Computes the expanded AES key given a 128, 192 or 256 bit key. :return: Expanded AES Key. If dec is True, also returns the
decryption expanded AES Key in a tuple.
- static format_hkeys(xkb, Nr)[source]
Formats the array of expanded key (xkb) or inverse expanded key (xki) in hexadecimal values and returns a dictionary with all round keys.
- Param
xkb: Array of the expanded AES key.
- Param
Nr: The numbers of rounds base on key length.
- Returns
dkeys: Dictionary of formated round keys.
- static rotw(w)[source]
Simple rotate transformation to a 4-byte word.
- Param
w: 4-byte word.
- Returns
4-byte transformed word.
